智娶文成民间故事中的爱情与智慧
很早以前，在哲炯地方，有两个姐姐和一个弟弟，由于父母早逝，两个姐姐只得承担起抚养弟弟的义务。大姐长得非常漂亮，招人喜欢，但她心狠手辣，爱杀生，就象魔鬼转世。二姐心地善良，尊姐爱弟，把小弟视为自己心上的油脂，眼中的瞳仁。大姐见小弟一天比一天长得机灵、漂亮，早就对他垂涎三尺，总是寻找机会要吃掉他。
这天，大姐让妹妹去放羊，说是由她在家做饭照看弟弟。妹妹识破了姐姐的诡计，执意不肯离开小弟，她说：“ sister, you are still like usual to go grazing, I will definitely cook a big pot of the meat you want to eat.” Sister was very unhappy and went grazing.
Meng Mei had secretly hidden the lamb in the sheepfold before leaving. When sister came back, she hid brother in the mountains. She then brought out a cooked leg of mutton and said to sister: "Eat it! This is your brother's meat." Sister heard this and was overjoyed, greedily chewing on the mutton leg. After eating it, she realized it wasn't human flesh but didn't say anything.
The next day, sister asked Meng Mei to go grazing again. Meng Mei had no choice but to hide brother in the mountains again.
After returning from grazing that evening, sister pulled out one of her brother's fingers and said: "Yesterday you deceived me; today I killed your brother for food. Here is his finger for you; eat it!" Hearing this news made Meng Mei both sad and angry but also helpless against her evil sister.
Meng Mei cried bitterly while carrying her brother's finger up to a hillside where she built an altar with her fingers inside, praying ceaselessly for his peace in future lives.
The next day when Meng Mei returned from tending sheep at dusk and found that a small tower had turned into a tiny temple by herself looking around confusedly until suddenly caught sight of red-robed monk who approached her with offerings such as rubies green jade etc., offering them as gifts saying they were given by Buddha himself:
"Your younger sibling did not become prey yesterday because he is destined for great deeds."
When returning home after receiving these precious gifts from Buddhist monks' hands—her older sisters questioned about their origin—and upon telling truthfully what happened—both girls visited temples near waterfalls each time trying once more hoping good fortune would come through prayer or divine intervention
