The Creation of the Universe and the Primordial Gods: In ancient Chinese mythology, the creation of the universe is attributed to a vast void called Chaos. From this void emerged three primordial gods - Heaven, Earth, and Water. The story goes that Heaven and Earth were once husband and wife who produced numerous offspring, including humans and animals.
Jade Emperor's Ascension: According to legend, after creating humanity, Jade Emperor decided it was time for him to ascend back into heaven as he felt his work on earth was complete. Before leaving he chose his successor from among his children - Pangu who created all living things in pairs with one half being male and the other female.
Xiwangmu: Queen of Heaven: Xiwangmu also known as Chang'e is a central figure in Chinese mythology associated with immortality and healing powers. She is said to reside on Hengshan Mountain where she tends her immortal garden filled with magical herbs used for healing ailments such as fever or pain.
Monkey King Sun Wukong: This legendary character comes from "Journey to the West," an epic novel written during Ming Dynasty by Wu Cheng'en based on historical records about a Buddhist monk named Tang Sanzang (also known as Tripitaka) who traveled westwards for Buddhist scriptures accompanied by three disciples – Monkey King Sun Wukong; Zhu Bajie (Pigsy); Sha Wujing (Sandy).
