Today, we can still marvel at these captivating stories in their original form or discover them anew in modern retellings.

The Origins of Creation

According to Chinese mythology, the creation story revolves around the primordial forces Pangu and Chaos (Hun-tun). From this void emerged Tai Chi (the ultimate reality), which gave birth to Yin-Yang duality – representing darkness-lightness, cold-heat, etcetera – as well as five elements (wood-fire-earth-metal-water). These fundamental principles laid the foundation for all subsequent creations in Chinese cosmology.
