HERCULES' TEN LABORS
Hercules, the son of Zeus and a mortal woman, was born with incredible strength. His life was marked by tragedy when his wife and children were killed by the goddess Hera's jealousy. In atonement for his madness-induced murder of his family, Hercules had to complete ten tasks set by King Eurystheus.
The first labor was to slay the Nemean Lion. The lion terrorized cities in Greece, but Hercules strangled it with his bare hands. Next came the Lernaean Hydra: a serpent-like monster that could regenerate its heads if any were cut off. Hercules burned each head after cutting them off.
For his third labor, he captured the Ceryneian Hind - a golden deer sacred to Artemis - and brought it back alive to Eurystheus' palace without harming it. Fourthly, he rounded up and brought back alive ferocious man-eating birds known as Stymphalian Birds using krotala (wooden clappers).
In order to complete his fifth task, Hercules traveled across seas and mountains until he reached Erymanthus Mountain where he found an enormous boar called Kalydonian Boar which ravaged villages nearby. He hunted down this monstrous creature alone.
As part of six labors assigned by king Eurystheus., Heracles had to clean out Augean stables filled with years worth of filth from thousands of cattle in one day; then capture Mares Of Diomedes who fed on human flesh; take away Girdle Of Hippolyte queen Of Amazons; steal Oxen Of Geryon living on island Erytheia; capture Cattle Of Hades guarded By Cerberus itself; lastly bring back apples From Garden Of Hesperides guarded By nymphs And three giant bronze-bodied serpents.
Hercules completed all these tasks under immense hardship but also demonstrated extraordinary intelligence as well as courage showing that true heroism is not just about physical prowess but also wisdom and strategic thinking.
Finally after completing all these labors ordered by King Eurystheus., Heracles died at Mount Oeta because Zeus wanted him beside himself in heaven forevermore while sending two eagles into sky above firey pyre watching their feathers burning up proving immortality for both gods & mortals alike although there are different accounts about how exactly Heracles died..
