villagers once said that if you tied three bamboo poles together, they wouldn't reach the bottom. Now, during droughts, you can see the bottom.
According to legend, there used to be a small temple in the location of the clock pit. The temple had only two rooms - one with a platform for worshipping Guanyin Bodhisattva and another room where a monk named Hongneng lived. Despite his poverty and lack of followers, Hongneng was devoted to maintaining the temple's rituals.
One day, a sacred white deer from South Sea appeared to Hongneng in his dream and promised to bring him an enormous bell on June 6th as long as he kept the temple door open that night. However, when midnight approached and no bell arrived despite strong winds and thunderstorms outside, Hongneng closed the door out of concern for safety.
Just then, there was a loud crash; half of an enormous bronze bell fell into the ground. Feeling regretful for not keeping his promise earlier, Hongneng opened up again but found nothing except for some words echoing through: "Don't shut me out! You won't find me!" It turned out that this was actually Fei San who had replaced Fei Si due to their identical strength but different habits (Fei San would often hold back his farts when using force). As per their agreement with Hongneng earlier (where he requested help from Fei Si), they were supposed not to ask for help from Fei San instead.
The partially buried bronze bell became famous as it could be heard ringing whenever someone touched it or passed by. People tried various ways including asking around town if anyone knew about someone called Fei Si or four until finally finding him at home after borrowing money from others in exchange for helping lift it up again.
However just as they thought they had succeeded in pulling it out again but failed due to poor timing when someone shouted 'Fei San add more power' which led him accidentally breaking his belt while trying too hard causing both attempts ending with failure thus leading people believing that this village is cursed while still keeping faith on its name which now changed into Clock Drop Village till today
