In the mystical realm of ancient China, where dragons ruled the skies and gods commanded the heavens, a young man named Ling embarked on a perilous journey to unravel the enigma surrounding these mythical creatures. His quest began with an intriguing tale that had been passed down through generations: "China has sixty-four hexagrams in its I Ching, eight trigrams in each, but there exists a ninth hidden one – guarded by dragons."
The Discovery
Ling's curiosity was piqued as he delved deeper into his research. He found himself at the doorstep of Master Wong, a wise old scholar who possessed knowledge about ancient Chinese mythology. The master revealed to Ling that he knew of this hidden trigram and shared an anecdote from an obscure text: "A dragon once descended upon Mount Tai and bestowed upon it great blessings." Intrigued by this account, Ling asked if he could accompany Master Wong on his annual pilgrimage to Mount Tai.
The Pilgrimage
As they ascended the mountain, Ling observed various symbols etched into the rocks – some were familiar hexagrams while others seemed foreign. Master Wong explained that these represented different aspects of nature and human life according to Taoist philosophy. Suddenly, they stumbled upon an unusual symbol unlike any other; it was comprised of three horizontal lines above three vertical ones.
The Revelation
Master Wong whispered something astonishing in Ling's ear: "This is indeed the ninth hidden trigram – representing balance between heaven and earth." As they continued their ascent up Mount Tai's peak, Ling spotted a magnificent dragon soaring above them. It circled around them twice before vanishing into thin air.
Confrontation with Destiny
Upon reaching their destination atop Mount Tai, Master Wong led Ling to a secluded cave where two stone statues stood guard beside him – one depicted a benevolent dragon while another portrayed it as ferocious beast. A voice boomed from within cave walls saying:
"Who dares disturb my rest?"
Master Wong stepped forward revealing his identity as guardian of ancient wisdom entrusted with protecting secrets for centuries past.
"I am here seeking answers," said Master,
"Answers you shall have," replied
the voice echoing back,
"The world is ever changing yet remains unchanging like yin-yang."
"You must first understand yourself before understanding me."
Ling felt deeply humbled realizing how much more there was still left for him to learn about life itself let alone mastering Chinese astrology.
"What do you seek?" questioned
the voice again,
"Knowledge about your kind,"
replied
Ling boldly,
"A tale so grand,"
said
the voice finally,
"It will take time & patience"
