Hey there! Today, I'm gonna tell you a super fun story from Chinese mythology. You know how sometimes we hear stories about dragons and phoenixes? Well, let me share one with you that's really short and sweet.
Once upon a time in ancient China, there was a poor farmer who had nothing but his land and his ox. One day, the ox spoke to him in human voice saying it would go to heaven if he was given some rice cakes as food for its journey. The farmer gave them generously.
The next day, the ox returned with two beautiful horses which were said to have come from heaven itself. They promised that every year they would return with gifts of gold or silk if the farmer treated them well.
And so began the legend of Niu Lang (the cowherd) and Zhinü (the weaver girl), who later became immortalized as star-crossed lovers under the constellations of Altair and Vega - symbolizing their love that transcended even death itself!
